PIRS: The Shoe Project – Day 2

November 15, 2026 @ 2:00 pm - 7:00 pm

The Shoe Project is a unique experience that brings to the stage a group of immigrant and refugee women, sharing the journeys that brought them to Canada. Each story anchored in a pair of shoes that represents moments of resilience, hope, and new beginnings. Through live storytelling, audiences are invited into deeply personal experiences of migration, identity, courage, and belonging. The Shoe project features GEMS Market Ready 2026 – St. John’s International Women’s Film Festival mentee Zahida Rahemtulla.

Pacific Immigrant Resources Society (PIRS) is more than just an immigrant and refugee services agency. They are a supportive community dedicated to empowering women to rise out of isolation and integrate into life in Canada. Their services are low-barrier, culturally relevant, and trauma-informed.
