Market Ready is a development program that provides a producer, director, or writer the opportunity to take a feature film or series concept to market. The goal is to provide the recipient with experience in preparing their project pitch for presentation to potential collaborators, funders, and partners.
We accept both documentary and narrative submissions, in long-form (feature or series).
The chosen mentee will receive a pass to TIFF: The Market, as well as 2-3 hours of personal coaching (1-2 sessions) with a mentor chosen by GEMS. The private coaching session(s) will cover several topics to prepare the mentee to pitch their project during the TIFF: The Market. Applicants will also receive support towards travel and accommodations to attend the market.
Topics for personalized coaching may include:
- Creating a one sheet
- Pitching advice
- Who is buying what
- Who to target with your project
- How to add cache and marketable elements to your project
- How to build an audience for the project/marketing 101
