WIFTV Announces Participants for Emerging TV Producer Program

Women in Film & Television Vancouver (WIFTV) has announced the participants for the 2022 Emerging TV Producer program. The WIFTV Emerging TV Producer Program is a 6-month initiative aimed at assisting 11 women and gender diverse creators with the goal of providing the tools, training and connections to break into the television industry.

“This is one of the best, and most comprehensive programs for emerging writers/producers in the city. I’m walking away from the first phase of the program with an excellent overview of the TV market. The guest speakers have been informative, transparent and very generous with insider’s and critical information,” says Ana Carrizales, ETVP participant.

Funded by the Canada Media Fund (CMF), the 11 selected participants are in the midst of Phase 1 of the program; a series of Foundation Workshops, held in Vancouver. Topics covered include pitching, funding opportunities, creating budgets, finance plans, legal, broadcasters and distribution. For Phase 2, participants will work with a mentor through December to assist them with packaging their projects for development funding and or industry markets.
